The following is from the Foreword of our new Stillpoint Book
Take a deep breath in … and relax.
Rest, right here, in this indescribably sweet place—the space between your in-breath and your out-breath.
Central to the ancient yogic traditions and other wisdom traditions, the “space between breaths” is where the alchemy of transformation takes place. It is also the space—and the experience—that we have come to call Stillpoint.
Resting in the space between our last thought and our next one, between our last action and our next one, between our past and our future, an auspicious opening occurs. Within this opening, more energy begins to flow, nourishing the physical body and activating the subtle body. Thoughts and emotions soften and disperse, inviting our natural condition of relaxation, ease, and harmony. The heart opens, increasing our ability to experience peace, passion, happiness, and joy.
Over the years, our retreat participants, and our global network have wanted to know how to access this opening and why it matters, asking:
What is that “space between,” really, and why is it so potent?
How can I access it anytime I want to and with ease?
What’s possible as I learn how to do that?
How can I, and the people I care about, benefit in body, mind, and spirit?
These questions will be answered throughout this book where we will go further into practices and protocols. In the field of quantum physics, there are compelling explanations for what makes the space between so powerful. And one of our passions is to make this information highly accessible and easy to digest. The better we are at doing that, the sooner you can reap the benefits in every part of your life—from your physical health to your spiritual growth and everything in between.
In addition to practicing Stillpoint Yogic, we have been researching and developing cutting-edge subtle yogic technologies for many years. We also facilitate retreats and trainings around the world, which is the thing we most love to do. Everything we do is with one focus: to help people to access Stillpoint—not only for the purpose of healing in body and mind but also to open to the full expression of who they are.
In addition to healing and renewal (very important endeavors), we have found that Stillpoint affects so many aspects of being and levels of consciousness. The more people rest in the space between breaths and find the sweet relief there, their goals and priorities continue to shift—and subtler quests begin to take on greater meaning.
Now that I’ve healed this back pain, how do I access my heart’s true desires?
Now that I have so much more energy and vitality, how do I want to use it?
Now that I’ve let go of the emotion I was holding on to about a relationship, how do I release any other residue of the past?
Now that I don’t feel burnt out and disempowered, how do I create a new vision for my future?
